ART_S
I create art to explore the ideas of typography and music through the process of design. Art to express myself, the emotion of a song, the creative process. I am drawn to graffiti because of it use of typography in a stylistic way. In conceptual way I am drawn to street art and graffiti because many works are collaborative effort in a jam style of working. Many also have no name attached to them or face attached to name just art for art and nothing else.
In making art I use many different ways from hand drawings to computer-generated images. My designs will start out as some sort of hand drawing or sketch, I feel that had drawing gives me a connection with the piece I am working on. I like working by hand but the computer gives be the ability to take certain designs and ideas to a new level by allowing me to explore multiple design options quickly and without destroying the original.
I design art through a number of different ways the main way is drawing because for me it easier for me to get a sketch from my head down with pencil and paper then any other means. Programs like Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Dreamweaver have been stables of my design work and I have worked in Maya, Final Cut Pro, and Soundtrack Pro. Programs such as these enable me to push my designs in different ways that hand drawing would not allow such as 3D modeling, distortion of images, manipulation of color and scale. In this way I am also looking to learn more about the programs and drawing so that I can use the knowledge to advance my designs.
